My favorite week of the year!
Gingerbread Week!
We actually rolled out and baked gingerbread right in our room!
I use a toaster oven!
We can only bake 3 at a time so this process takes awhile.
The upside is we get to smell the delightful aroma for hours!
On Wednesday we decorated and ate our creations!
They were so proud of their yummy creations!
Oh yes! They were tasty!
We did have 3 other stations during centers...
Station 3:
Gingerbread playdough!
The secret ingredient is....
Coffee!
Instead of water I popped in 3 cups of brewed coffee! It gives the dough such a lovely color and smell!
Oh, plus glitter!
Station 4 was Gingerbread Friends! We created these cuties last week to decorate with and to use to practice printing our friends' names!
Our final station was practicing the an family!
We collected data about how we eat gingerbread cookies
(We tried the tasty ones from Trader Joe's)
Oh my! The family projects look amazing!
It's not too late if your family's is not in yet!
Everywhere we look there are gingerbread games! This one helps us practice sight words!
This one is word families!
Here is our independent work for our word family this week is the -an family...
We used these lovely little gingerbread guys to practice ABC order...
We had fun with the classic song:
"Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar?"
I did! But I'll share!
Thursday's snow day delayed our count down to Christmas project. We will do this Friday afternoon which means I will post about it next week!
