2022 Week 7 & 8 Pumpkins, Bats, Spiders, and Halloween Fun!

I hope your MEA Fall break was full of memories.

We DID NOT make it to Cascade River State Park to primitive camp and backpack as planned as my dad's passing has created an avalanche of paper work that really needed my attention. Sigh. I'm still dealing with tons of items but at least I feel a bit more organized.

However we did get to do a bit of yard work in between waiting on hold for the VA!

We also participated in a jeep run up to Read's Landing.  Our group then diverged from the big group and went to HokSiLa boat landing north of Lake City to do a little water play and agate hunting.

This week's blog will be for the 2 previous weeks to get us all caught up!

We loved our pumpkin days before MEA!

The letter of the day series keeps up busy with many fun activities, projects, and games!
Looking for a UUUUUnicorn was a hit!

Our sight words are super fun, too!

We model reading and pointing for so many things.
This activity brought science and reading together!

Here's another math puzzle...

We learned the life cycle of a pumpkin as we talked about how plants change and grow...

I just LOVE these little guys!

Just before MEA break we had centers!
Here are the 5 stations we rotated through:

This week's science was to sort plants into categories.
We sorted into the parts of the plant we eat!
Seeds, roots, stem, flower, fruit, leaves were the categories.  What yummy fun!

We also learned about skeletons!

Here are a few new learning stations around our room...

We had a blast building Mr. X-Ray!

On Ww day we learned a watercolor technique using witches and water!
