2018 Week 12 Letter Tt, star word "we", FAMILY and FOOD!

We are off! ACTION 100 here we come!
Thank you for having your child read their ACTION100 book every evening (Mon-Thurs) to you!
Please return these little books daily.

The kids have all conferenced with me this week.
My 1-2 YELLOW readers will simply read TO me weekly.
My  3 YELLOW readers will begin to tick off words on our GREEN word lists.
My GREEN reader will continue with word lists and category words.
And my BLUE reader will have word lists to linked to specific skills and rules.
WOW!
Everyday the kids will read independently for 15-30 minutes.
Here are some of them reading around the room and some of them are reading in our new reading totes:

Wow!  We have such puzzle solvers this year!   These kiddos are working on our 1st 100 piece puzzle.  Yes they finished,  And oh no, I forgot to get a photo!
It was a cute raccoon!
These ladies finished a turkey puzzle in no time at all!
And get a load of this one...so many pieces,  so much teamwork!
The feast area in housekeeping is also very popular... and tasty!
Our two college girls,  Ms.Seifert and Ms. Walrich, made these cutie patootie turkey puppets with the kids.

They are made from the tips of my husband's work gloves...shhhh, he'll never notice!
We also created these counting by 10s turkey hats!

Before Thanksgiving break we had new morning challenges:

We've been discussing verbs in language arts...those fun action words!
.

The disguised turkeys are FANTASTIC!
Here's a few...

Monday we created these lovely houses with the data you helped us collect about your family!
We learned that all families are different but all families love and care for the people in them!

We also reviewed star words in a fun and unique way.
We had to move around the room asking our classmates to read from our sheet and sign their name.
It really was active learning!

Family of numbers...

Writing about our favorite food...
Reviewing NOW and THEN

Here's a quick shot of this weeks literacy wall:
We've begun the hard task of listening to WHERE in a word we hear the sound...
beginning, middle, or end?

Here's a few more things happening...
