2018 Week 4 letters Ii, Jj, Kk, Ll; Apples!

Happy Fall!
One of my favorite seasons!
We began our fun week by making another lucky duck book called "Whose Shoes?" part of our Pete the Cat theme. We are focusing on visual discrimination. Yep,  the kids are better than me at this!
Can you guess?

All the kids' shoes will be in a lucky duck book coming home soon!

Here's our letter i snack....Instant Pudding!
(well, done, Mom, well done!)
Here is our last Goofy Glasses kid...
this is also a lucky duck book, a very popular one!

Thank you so much for all the Fall Science Table finds!
WOW!
We have many scientists in here so excited to get exploring!

I just love it when a game we play whole group is played in choice time...they don't even know they are learning!

Here's Ietter i morning message...yummy!

Did your kiddo play a trick on you?
I've got my "i" on you!
Ha!  They liked that one!
Oh man, we've been practicing rhyming like crazy lately!
If your k kid does not have rhyming down yet,  keep practicing orally daily.  This is an important skill for readers!
Here's some of our new stations around the room:

Pete the Cats finally made it to the hallway after we wrote color words!

Here's our Jj page...a jar of jelly beans!
And our Ietter i page... ice cream!
Here's a few more action shots from around the room...

Tuesday's centers included:

Following a recipe to make APPLE PIE!
IT WAS A HIT!
'Bobbing ' for numbered apples...

Apple scented playdo...

Beginning sound apples...

Reviewing numerals with apples and dry erase markers...

Wednesday's new morning challenges include:

Matching apple words...
Apple wagons one-to-one correspondence

Beginning sounds apple baskets...

After our "paper" work is finished for the morning (my least favorite part of our day)  we're able to pick what bonus we would like to do.  Lately the kids have been working hard at big puzzles...

Wednesday we peeled and chopped apples for kindergarten apple sauce and dried apples...yummy!

Just right!  Jelly rolls for Jj day!
And Kettle corn for Kk day !

During milk break we review skills with Jack Haetman!

After snack we got back to work using the apple peeler!   The kids loved it!

I love this photo... how quickly can 21 k kids eat ALL the peels and leftovers?  Quickly!
These friends discovered the Widget challenges...
We're finally got the sort the apples by color And size!

Then we really looked at our apples and drew like a scientist...

We measured, too!

Time to get the apple sauce served up!
It smelled heavenly in our room!

Wednesday afternoon we read about and created a Johnny appleseed!  Only it's not Johnny,  it's us!

These are cutey patootie pics of the kids with their apple...
