Welcome to Rain Forest Animals 1!
Here are our fine explorers...
We spend an hour every day stopping by our learning stations!
Monday was alligator day!
My station was to create these lovely reptiles...
My daughter, Maeve, helped with the alligator puppets...
Miss Olivia was in charge of hats and binoculars...
Miss Jazmin showed us how to play SNAP...
and Miss Mackenzie did a measuring activity where we measured the length of a "grow-a-gator!"
Action shots!
Tuesday was FROG day!
My station was biocolor and balloons for painting...
Miss Jazmin worked on word families...
Miss Olivia practiced counting by 10s...
Miss Mackenzie had another measuring activity:
We measured how big the gators grew and
we measured a leap frog game piece and well has how far we could leap!
Miss Maeve created these cutie frogs with the kids...
Wednesday was big beautiful butterfly day!
Miss Jazmin helped with symmetry at the scratch off table...
Miss Olivia assisted with butterfly addition...
Miss Maeve helped create these lovely butterflies...
Miss Mackenzie oversaw painting symmetrical butterflies...
and my table was also symmetry as we dripped watercolor paint onto our butterflies...
Thursday was JAGUAR day!
The explorers created these beauties at my table...
Miss Jazmin helped with rain forest words and the word wall...
Miss Maeve assisted in creating these adorable picture frames...
The kids also got to practice numeral writing on calendars with a whole bunch to do at home!
Here is our word wall!
Great Reads!
(I try to read a selection of fiction and nonfiction daily!)
Friday was pretty quiet as it was just Maeve and myself at the stations!
My station was learning about the layers of the rain forest...
Maeve's station was monkeys counting by 5.
Sorry, I forgot to take a pic.
So, that's a wrap folks!
What a great week!
Thanks for sharing your almost 1st grader with me,
we will see most of you in August for Rain Forest Animals 2.
(there is room for more kiddos so if you know of anyone, let me know!)
