The kiddos have been building with styrofoam blocks. These friends created a bear cave!
We played a very hard word family gingerbread game whole group. I love it when they choose to play it again during choice time!
Oh, this looks like fun! We continued our gingerbread unit by creating these adorable (decorative, not edible) gingerbread houses!

Oh happy day! We finally got to take home our gingerbread friends!
On Wednesday this kiddo brought the perfect Pp snack: puff popcorn!
Here's another example of these smarties choosing academics at play time.
We have a very cool, very easy to set up science table. There's several 9 volt batteries and some sections of christmas lights stripped to the copper wire. The kids love to tap into the energy of the batteries to make the lights light up!
Ta ta ta da!
On Wednesday we began a mini reindeer unit. We read a great nonfiction book about reindeer, we labeled a reindeer, and we created a reindeer!
Thursday's centers included:

Friday morning we were treated to Christmas caroling by the High School Seniors!
Choice time on Friday was wonderful!
The kids build their own igloo where our milk carton igloo used to be (ours fell down one too many times!)

We are still loving the gingerbread bake shop!
On Friday we created our countdown to Christmas paper chains! Best day ever!
In first grade the kiddos will get a FLAT STANLEY to send to friends and family near and far.
I got one from my granddaughter in Indianapolis this week.
We dressed him for the weather!
