Wow! What a wonderful 1st Annual Winterfest we had this week! We did so much from Winter games, to smores, to hot cocoa, to big beautiful murals for the hallway! We had an indoor snowball fight and wrapped up our classmates like snowpeople! Sadly 2 of our outdoor events were cancelled due to the cold weather. Maybe next year?
On Monday we had our rescheduled
Chinese New Year celebration!
Due to Covid we had Chinese noodles in individual cups instead of using the wok. We still used chopsticks, ate lucky oranges, and opened fortune cookies!
Gung Hay Fat Choy!
Oh, these little guys were miniature pan pipes to illustrate sound waves and sound vibration and sound energy for science!
What fun!
Tuesday was Happy Panda Day!
We generated our panda facts in a "Can Have Are" chart and then wrote about our favorite panda fact!
We are really focusing on penmanship! Just look how lovely this little guy printed...wow!
We celebrate many birthdays in February including Clifford the Big Red Dog, some famous Presidents, me, and Dr. Seuss (March) so we turn our housekeeping area into a BIRTHDAY PARTY place!
Here's some fun choice time activities:
These are photos of the k kids holding a heart that they cut into pieces for a Valentines we made for our parents!
"I love you to pieces!"
On Thursday we spent the afternoon creating heart creatures or collages! How beautifully festive!
If you haven't sent in your families February Family Project there is still time. Here's the ones we are enjoying already:
