ALOHA!
Welcome to one of the most beachy weeks in Kindergarten!
We began with a science activity about the sun and then created our own fun, fictional looking Mr. Suns...
Yep,we learned the song "Oh Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun!" That will be in your ear all day!
This little sciencetist was our EARTH as we demonstrated how the Earth moves around the sun.
Last Friday we brainstormed items we might see in the sky. We grouped them into day/night/or both. Then into made by humans or by nature. They had good ideas!
Then of course, they had a little independent work!
We've been using our writing journals since the beginning of the month. Most days there is a prescribed entry that they have to copy and finish and illustrate.
On this day it was
"We are __________"
This one is one of my favorites!
❤️💙💚
We finally got a little painting in this week!
First we used crayons and painted blue sparkly watercolor over the top to create an underwater scene!
This will be in a lucky ducky book coming home soon!
Tuesday was shark day!
Wednesday we honored and recognized our hard working paras!
I also had a touch of laryngitis.
Oh, I mean a full fledged bout!
Not sick, just no voice.
Those hard working paras and Wednesday's parent volunteers really saved the day by taking my story times and being my voice throughout the day!
Speaking of Wednesday's centers:
Station 1 was a water and bubble station brain break!
Katie helped with middle sound at Station 2:
(NEW SKILL ALERT!!!!)
Ms. Kay had Station 3 where the kids went fishing for sight words!
Jill helped at Station 4 as the kiddos subtracted with the sharks!
and Station 5 was Shark Addition!
More bubble and water photos!
