Week 15 Letter Nn, star word 'like', and GINGERBREAD!!!!

This is my absolute favorite week in K....

Gingerbread Week!

If the kids only remember one thing about this week,

I hope they recall the delightful aroma!

Here are just a few of the books we read this week...

On Monday we squeezed in centers with a twist...

Independent Centers where the  k kids decided where to begin and where to go next!

Their choices were:

Greater than with polar animals...

missing abc walruses...

missing numerals with penguins...

December vocabulary race...

a favorite!

and painting frosting on our large gingerbread people!

On Tuesday we decorated them with all sorts of interesting items!

These beauts will be on display at the Christmas concerts!

We refreshed our play snow...cool fun!

We are also growing crystals after learning that is what snow is!

Wednesday we used the same gingerbread friends at morning challenges!  The kids alphabetized them by last name!

Really!!!!  They are amazing,  I tell ya!

Also, uppercase/lowercase matching...

and working together to solve a puzzle!

Yep, I drag in my roaster and we fill the school with the 

most delightful aroma!

Everyone pops in for a whiff!

We played a new game called TAPE NOSE!

We all wore a piece of tape on our nose, took turns greeting each other, then touching noses.  The tape only sticks to ONE od the greeters!  That person continues on to the next person...

On Friday we created a journal page on ways to make 5 with cookies!

Call me crazy, but my family and I went to the midnight showing of The Hobbit!  What an adventure!

Here we are on Friday with 2 hours of sleep

Today's morning challenge was to work together to 
decorate a giant gingerbread man!

Everyone had a job!
Boy, they turned out so cute!
And yummy! We ate them at milk break...
