What a fun, fast, and fantastic learning week we had!
Here's last Friday's Corduroy project decorating our room!
Cute!
And here's some of the artists who created them...
(Not all kids choose to come up for a picture if you are wondering why some do not have photos...)
Everyday the k kids sign in on the smartboard...what fun!
Monday was letter Aa day.
We are creating an ABC book that we will send home when we finish at the end of October so you can see these great creations in person!)
We read and sang about the lady with the alligator purse and then made our own! Plus we added things that begin with Aa...ant, astronaut, acorn, apron...
Ms. G helped the kids create a new lucky duck book about sorting buttons.
We try to get 2 choice times a day.
Painting is always popular!
So is the science table...
The blocks and marble run are a great cooperative play area...
As is the kitchen...
Ms. Benke works with us in the afternoons as well. Here she is playing a counting game with the kids.
This Amazing kid brought our Aa snack...animal crackers!
On Tuesday with Beautiful K Kid brought Blueberry Muffins for the letter Bb!
We added these Beeeeutiful bees to our abc book...
Tuesdays and Thursdays we will have centers in the afternoon. This Tuesday was our first go!
We had the playdo and brown bear station...
We had sorting and counting (and eating) M&Ms with Brown Bear station...
Then there was brown bear letter match...
and our first graph....brown bear color sorting!
Each team stays about 10 minutes at each station then we switch! We good brain building activities!
Our Math is a mostly online program and the kids are loving the videos! This week was all about sorting and classifying!
We make to break out real objects whenever we can.
The kids are really practicing their pre reading and beginning reading skills. This homework was to practice pointing to each word as we said it. A good skill! A necessary skill! Thanks for encouraging this at home with your new readers!
On Wednesday we creating A Big Colorful Bear to celebrate our first 3 letters...get it? A B C!
Today's morning message was a fun caterpillar!
We added this cute cat to our abc book...
Everyday with the sorting and classifying!
Oh, letter Dd day was delicious!
We started with this delightful donut for our sign in...
Then this Dandy of a k kid brought us delicious donuts for our d treat!
Here's our Dd Dinosaur for our abc book!
Thursday's centers included:
uppercase lowercase match for abcd using paper punchers!
Finding our friends names...
Dice rolling and probability with brown bear characters and Ms. G...
One to one correspondence with brown bear and Tanner's grandma, Ms. Pulley!
Here's "A Big Colorful Bear!" from earlier in the week...
LOVE LOVE LOVE!
For our final bear week project we incorporated a little STEAM (science technology engineering art and math) into our week. This activity was heavy on the engineering component as the k kids were given graham crackers, frosting, and a little teddy graham bear.
Their challenge? Build a cave the bear can hibernate in using all their supplies.
Fun and tasty!
Here the k kids are beginning to build...
and here's some of the edible creations!
We had some pretty excited engaged children!
Here's some of the books we read this week...
Here's a science chart we worked on...
Imaginary or Real?
Your k kid should be able to read this to you...
call them over, yes, right now, have them point to the screen and read each word!
How fun!
