2017 Week 13 Letter Tt, star word 'we', food, family, and then PENGUINS and POLAR BEARS!

4 of my 6 kiddos were home 
for Thanksgiving!  
Someday they will ALL be home at one time!

Just before our Thanksgiving break,
this smartie counted to 100!
Yay!

Monday and Tuesday we focused on food and family and "Thanksgiving leftovers!"

We sorted food into categories...

Monday's morning challenges included:
Pumpkin pie count and clip...

Pie letter sounds and alphabetic order...

and turkey ABC-abc match!

We're really working with sounds and words now!
As a whole group we sounded out words to discover where the Tt sound /t/ was.
Beginning, Middle, or End?

Then they worked on their own pages!

Tuesday's centers included:
Brother and Sister beginning sounds...

~at family dice roll...

Family of Numbers to 30...read and dot

and Time Sort...Now or Then?

On Wednesday this Terrific Kid brought Trees for Tt snack!

We've some new centers in our room to explore!

All week long we worked on these houses that represent

Wednesday afternoon we began our polar animal unit with these cutie patootie penguins!

Thursday's new morning challenges included:
Polar bear sentence sort...

Polar bear numeric order from 10-30...

and penguin missing numeral...

We opened the gingerbread bakery...more pictures next week!

 

This is a fun little game of polar bears and penguins

(we learned they would never really meet in the real world)

but the game is fun!

Here's another penguin game that strengthens our memory skills!  It is called Pengaloo!

The gingerbread village is also up and running!

We reviewed fiction and nonfiction with our penguin pages!

Thursday's centers included:

Penguin color word read the room...

Penguin egg beginning sounds...

Measuring penguins with "ice cubes"...

and Penguin number words...

Our igloo has grown nicely this week!

One thing I LOVE about Action100 is the fact that I get to read so much to the kids! My favorite part of the day!

Our new girl, Kloie, will be starting on Monday!

We are so excited we can hardly wait!
