Here's a few pics of my 5 day vacation to Georgia...
Everything was perfect!
My 4th daughter, Maeve, and I spent 5 days with my oldest son, Graham, his wife, Melissa, and my granddaughter, Adelaide!
First stop (after Atlanta) was Savannah!
Then Jekyll Island!
The folks on the island promote tourism in the off season by commissioning glass fishing floats from artists across the nation. Then they hide up to 20 daily...and it's finders, keepers!
We found ours again (3rd year running) in the gift shop on the way out of town!
It's a genius idea!
The ocean, the sea turtle institute, the historic district are all wonderful places to be on a treasure hunt!
Before I left on Friday we finally got to read with our 4th grade reading buddies again!
I just love these photos...
Ms. Harden, our student teacher, and Ms. Olson, my sub really had a great time with our class.
They reviewed the short i word families...
There were some very nice morning messages...
This kiddo celebrated his birthday!
Lots of building and team work happened...
During Tuesday's centers the kids practiced short i words with SKITTLES for the dot!
They practiced counting to 100 by 5s...
There was a brain break playdough area...
Ending sounds were reviewed...
Ms. Wallrich practiced listening to how many syllables in a word...
Ms. Harden had another fun weighing activity with the pan balances and candy hearts!
The kiddos began our count down to 100 days by creating many journal pages.
This one was
"What Can You Make with a 100?"
I was back for Thursday's new morning challenges:
100 Day Sentences...
100 day Star Word sort...
Counting by 5s with a 100 chart...
The 100 day treat was all ready to share!
Each kiddo brought 100 of something to mix in our 100 day gorp...then we shared it!
These 100 day frames are a little gift Ms. Harden and I put together for you as a way to say
"Thank You for 100 Wonderful days!"
Last week we introduced this giant tub of beads to use with the skill of measuring capacity.
It has since become a sorting activity, and now a bracelet creating station!
Even with all these crazy snow days I just have to read
The Wolf's Chicken Stew to the kids for the 100th day.
Ask them to retell you the story!
We had to find 100 chicks hidden around the classroom...What fun!
Thursday's 100 Day centers included:
Big Numbers!
Dotting 100 Dots in a 100!
Numbers to 100 PLUS 1...
Mystery Star words...
And finally, our STEM activity
How Much is 100 Drops of water?
(Not as much as you'd think!)
I brought back shark's teeth and peach candy to share with my favorite Kindergarten class!
They were pretty excited!
