2019 Week 29 Letter Hh, Money, Mud, and Worms!

The Mississippi is high and the sap is flowing...
it must finally be springtime in Minnesota!

Here's a group shot of our rain poems from last week... pretty!
Oh, the money station has been such fun! We've been sorting coins like a banker!
Monday of course was April Fools' Day!
Oh my the pranks were fun!

Not a prank:  the worm science table is a wiggly hit!

For milk break I brought the k kids BrownEEEEs... Haha!
Some of the kids were NOT amused!!!

Have no fear,  I actually made real brownies, too, because that's something you don't joke around about... chocolate!
Here's some of our fun April Fools' Day books!
I began reading to the kids this hilarious book!
We've some very happy kiddos!

More worm discoveries...

Ms. Harden played a money game with us.  We traded coins.  Example: when we gained 5 pennies we traded for a nickel , 2 nickels for a dime,  etc.

Wormy power words...

This happy kiddo brought us Hostess Donuts for our Hh snack on Wednesday!
We've begun a new sharing format.
The mystery egg will be coming to your house soon!
The directions will be included.
On Wednesday afternoon we painted a MUD book...
we really painted with MUD in our MUD book!

Thursday morning we went to the Fools 5 award ceremony where we found Mr. Incredible!
These kiddos won Gatorades for wearing old Fools 5 shirts!

And this generous fella won a very nice prize for raising $500 for cancer research!
Way to go!

Ms. Harden had a very nice, interactive, and engaging lesson on money with week.
We finally got to examine our coins for home.
How exciting!

Here's our mud poem and a link to the youtube video so you can watch it at home:
Stuck in the Mud song

During Thursday's Centers we had a MUD theme!
At Ms. Walrich's station we wrote power words with "mud"...actually chocolate pudding!

Denise is back!  She helped the kids write CVC words at the "get the pig to the pen" station...

and of course, we made MUD PIES!
It was actually salt dough made with cocoa powder!
I thought it smelled heavenly!

At my station we journaled a MUD page.
We thought of and wrote about our favorite noun to put mud on!

Look for this fun Lucky Duck to come home with your k kid soon!
