Welcome to
Rain Forest Animals 1!
We sure had a blast this week learning about 5 different rain forest animals and their environment!
Of course we had to take some photos wearing our safari hats!
Here are some of the learning areas around our room...
Each day the explorers had some choice time while they waited to be called over to a project and/ or academic activity table.
Dawn helped on Monday at the "paint a 3d alligator" table!
My team was mostly maintenance for the week as we designed a folder, picked out a safari hat, and decorated a cup to use all week...
Lauren assisted with alligator book marks! How lovely!
We also have reading time daily... my favorite!
Our morning messages this week helped us to review sentence writing, facts/opinions, adjectives, and sounding out hard words. Well done, kiddos!
Thank you for sending in all the great snacks for this week!
On Tuesday we discovered jaguars!
At my station the kids put together and added details to a jaguar...
Gotta love fingerprinting!
My son, Fionn, was able to help us 2 days this week.
He is teaching the students about the levels of the rain forest...
And then the kiddos painted their own rain forests!
Lauren helped the almost 1st grader's sort out animals into their habitat: rain forest or deciduous forest...
They also created some cutie patootie finger puppets...
More choice time photos...
Wednesday was frog day!
At Fionn's table the kids measured as their froggy jumped...
And then measured how far they could jump!
My team created these adorable door handle hangers...
We also reviewed word families!
At Lauren's station the kids chose a froggie finger puppet to use as a reading pointer...
And they also reviewed counting by 10s...
Snack time is more fun with frog napkins!
We've been working on a very tough 100 piece puzzle all week.
Yes! We finished it on Thursday!
This new STEM challenge great game had been a hit!
Thursday was big, beautiful butterfly day!
Dawn's station was an addition review. Wow! They did great!
My station was to create a lovely symmetrical butterfly with liquid watercolor and eye droppers. Stunning!
At Lauren's table the kiddos had a scratch off butterfly. They also worked on symmetry! Lovely!
Good reads this week...
Each kiddo got one of those wind up butterflies! What fun!
I love this shot of their hats.
They cannot wait to take them home!
On Friday, the kiddos practiced counting by 5 with Lauren...
We finished our measurement activity by comparing our hand size to that of a gorilla!
At my station we created these lovely keepsakes! I love picture frames!
Thank you for enrolling your child in our Enrichment Summer School !
It was a blast!
Have a great summer!
