2019 Diggin Dinos!

Wow!  What a fun and fast week we had discovering
DINOSAURS!
We just have to use a backdrop as a nice photo op!

On Monday Lydia helped with the dinosaur hat center...

My station was to create this week's folder and to decorate the cup we used all week...

We also did a little one to one counting...
WOW!  Most kiddos made it to 20!
While the k kids waited their turn at projects they had independent play time!  So many fun and educational choices!

We also made time every day for some outside play!
Here they are running back up the hill at dismissal time.
Each morning the kiddos had to sign in on our chart just like KINDERGARTENERS!
Most days the chart was about writing our names the kindergarten way
(one uppercase and the rest lowercase)
or a math concept such as graphing our favorite dinosaur!
More choice time!

On Tuesday my station was to paint a dinosaur egg and with a baby dinosaur inside using liquid watercolors and droppers.
Gorgeous!

My son, Fionn, helped with Dinosaur Dan an activity about color review.  If you'll notice, Fionn's sample is his actual project from when he was in Kindergarten Summer School 11 years ago!

Lydia helped with our GLITTER names!
What's kindergarten without a little bit of sparkly glitter!

We cracked open a new activity with counting and numeral recognition...fun!
On Wednesday, Fionn helped the kids excavate a dinosaur baby out of a plaster!

Lydia reviewed ABC order and had a fun little scratchy dinosaur to design!

My station was to put together dinosaur "fossils" just like a paleontologist!

We've had a lot of fun at the independent sticker and crayon rubbing station!

We had snack time daily.
Thanks for all the great snacks this week!

On Thursday, Fionn helped the kiddos create these adorable dinosaur masks!
(we usually do these the first day but the shipment of supplies was delayed!  Better late then never!)

Lydia helped the kids paint these lovely little ceramic dinosaurs!

My station was to make these beautiful picture frames!

At group time we solved this large and difficult puzzle together... what fun!
Here's some other games we played this week...

 Here's a fun independent activity...
How many kindergarten feet fit into a baby t-rex footprint?

28!  The answer is 28 kid feet!

Here's some good reads this week...
On Friday, the kiddos created these cute dino gliders and chose an egg to take home at Fionn's table...

The kids made a dinosaur book at Lydia's table with a surprise ending!  Be sure to check it out!

At my station the k kids journaled about what they'd do if the dinosaurs came back...
(selfie with the teacher!)

Thank you all for a wonderfully fun week!
We had great volunteers, well behaved students, delicious snacks, and many educational and lovely projects!
THANK YOU for making time to get your child to our Diggin' Dinos Enrichment program!

We'll see many of you for BUG FUN
