2019 Week 38 Kings and Queens of Kindergarten!

Here's some of my k kids from 12 years ago!

Before you know it, that will be your little one!
Can you believe how quickly the year went by?
Here they are,  so proud, so eager and so ready to move on,  but they were still mine for just a little bit more this week.
I cherished every moment with them.   I might have even cried a little during a goodbye book!
And when the seniors walked by.
And when we practiced the ceremony.
And during the ceremony!

We learned the word 'bittersweet'... sigh...
it's so hard to let go.
They really did well this year!
Really really well!
So without further ado, here they are,
the Kindergarten Class of 2019!

First thing in the morning we had table activities instead of morning challenges!
This team chose the ice cream play do area...

This table played with mirrors and symmetry...

Pattern blocks were just the thing at the red team...

And this guy chose the mini castle set to play with...

On Monday morning the kindergarteners visited first grade while the first graders came back to kindergarten for an hour!
What switch-a-roo fun!

So here's a bunch of 1st graders having choice time...

It's was nice seeing them again!
We'll do it again next year when your k kid is a 1st grader!

We have had so many lovely and generous donations from Hailey's Aunt Lu that we just had to make her a thank you note!
We got to meet her and tell her thank you in person on Monday afternoon.
What a kind,  generous lady!
 Thank you,  Aunt Lu!

While cleaning up, we came across this long cash register tape.  The kids loved seeing how far they could print their numbers!   Yep,  some got way over 100... what smarties!

I sure hope you enjoyed the memory book we sent home on Tuesday.  We worked all year on these beauties!

I just love the difference in their drawing and printing over the 9 months in kindergarten... what growth!

Tuesday we began our 'King's and Queens of Kindergarten! ' unit!   We created these fabulous crowns...

We also made TREASURE BOXES!!!!

This was our last writing journal entry....
What is best about K?

We read a fun book about a king who would not get out of the tub... King Bidgood!
We journaled our idea of how to get him out...

Yep,  that'll do, just pull the plug!

We celebrated 3 more summer birthdays this week!

 Our final centers included:
Domino Place Value...

Bowling!   Yes. Mini bowling and writing the math story about each turn...

 Symmetry using mirrors...

 Domino Dock...addition fun!

And good old fashioned tops and jacks!

I just had to get the k kids a little goodbye gift...
hope they enjoyed their fun items!

Whew!  Just in the nick of time we celebrated another 100 Club counter!

We cleaned and sorted and organized on Wednesday.
The finale was cleaning our desks with shaving cream!

We had challenges to reach,
like write how old you are in words...

draw a cube!
What does bittersweet mean?
and a message for Mrs. O!

On Friday we went outside for a group photo~
We always have to do a silly pic!

 Just this....
 Here's our last morning message...
Thank you to everyone who came to our end of year celebration!
Wow! What a turnout!
I didn't get many photos and look forward to seeing yours on social media...or send them to me!

The bunny hop is so much fun!
But the best of all is TOOTY TA!!!!

Oh goodness, this year has come to an end.
It sure is a bittersweet time.
I keep thinking "Wait!  I haven't done this or that with the kids yet."  I can always find more fun and engaging things, but it is time to say good bye!
Please take me up on my invite for your kiddo to come out to my house after reading 100 books
(recording sheet included in the packet given out at graduation).
I will always remember your child.
Thank you for all your support from home this year.
You were awesome!
Best of luck in 1st grade and beyond as your child grows and changes and you do, too, as a parent.
So....
this is it.
Really.
A loooong Minnesota Good bye!
(but not really...come see me!)
