2019 Rain Forest Animals 2

Wowza! What a great week we had!
Here's some fun photos of our days spent in the
"RAIN FOREST!"
Every day the kiddos have choice time while they are waiting to be called to a station.
Fun for all!

On Monday we learned about snakes!
At my station the kiddos painted a wooden snake...

Our parent volunteer,  Dawn,  helped the kiddos with an addition page and then they designed a snake puppet!

Book Time is always a good time but it is even better with buddies!
At group time we created a "can are have" chart about snakes!  It's a fun way to group our knowledge about snakes!
Every day we had an interactive morning message...

 Tuesday was chameleon day!
At Dawn's table the scientists practiced printing color words...
And they also received a sticky lizard as we learned about how sticky chameleon's tongues are!

At my station we worked on sight words using a clever chameleon pocket!

Then the kiddos decorated a lizard...

This guys contagious laugh kept us all in stitches as he giggled about those eyeballs sticking to his fingers accidentally!

 What great engineers...

 and designers...

Wednesday was big beautiful bird day in our rain forest!
We wrote 5 words that reminded us of birds...
adjectives, verbs,  or nouns...we reviewed them all!

My apologies...I had a different picture frame for this session but apparently I got them mixed up! If your child came to Rain Forest 1, you now have 2 of these...so sorry...  Please share with someone you love!

At Dawn's table the ornithologists created these adorable birds!

They also put together a bird glider!

These two worked together to hook all the monkeys together!  Teamwork rocks!
On Thursday we learned about bats!
The budding biologists designed this adorable fruit bat magnet!
At Dawn's station the kids reviewed many skills.
Beginning with more addition practice...

One more/ one less...

Labeling like a scientist...
And word families...
My station part 2 was making these flapping bats using straws!  This project helped illustrate that ordinary things can be used to create something cool and unusual!

On Friday we sorted animals into their biomes:
Rain Forest or Desert

At Dawn's station the kiddos practiced which is more...

 and numeric order...
What fun!  We couldn't have gotten through even half of the projects and review items I have without Dawn's help!
Thank you SOOOOO much!

Here's our last morning message!
  Good Reads...

This is the last group time I will have with these kiddos before they are off to 1st grade!
They are ready!
(But am I?)
Thanks for a great week!
See you around the halls!
