2023 Week 2 Bears!

Hello, Wonderful Parents of a Kindergartener
(or two!)
Week two was full of procedures and practices and drills.  The kiddos did great! We practiced a fire drill, a severe weather drill, bus safety, and safety drill as we "evacuated" to the church across the street.
As promised here are the super sweet photos of our cutie patootie racoons from last Friday:

If your kiddo's photo is not here it is because taking pictures of projects is an option for them.

Centers Selfie!
On Wednesday we had our first ever
CENTERS!
I prepare 5 stations that the kiddos rotate through in the afternoon. Here is this week's centers...
Station 1: Pattern Blocks

Station 2: Playdough

Station 3: Painting our Big Bears from Tuesday

Station 4: Puzzles

and (a Favorite!) Station 5: sorting and counting and recording M&Ms!

The centers change weekly and will become more academic, however we always have a fun "brain break" station!

Daily we create a page in our ABC BOOK that will come home at the end of October.
Here are a few we've made so far in no particular order!

Someone did some fun sorting!

This is a memory game that we played together and now they play with friends at choice time!
It's called Little Bear (he is hidden under one of the houses!)

Thank you for so many Kissing Hands!
These are a nice reminder of home

Choice Time is also a favorite!

On Monday we looked at our names.
We've really been practicing ONE capital and the rest lower case. Thanks for encouraging this at home.

We also read and sang the fun story
"Alligator Purse!"
Inside were words that begin with Aa

EEEE! Aren't those bears super sweet?

We read the classic book Corduroy and made our own Corduroys to take home to retell the story.

Everyday we sign on the Morning Message chart.
Printing and skill-of-the-day are our focus.

The "Cute as a Button" frames are our gift to you for helping your child and me with these first 2 weeks of school.  Thank you for the generous donations!
 You ROCK!
