2019 Week 34 Letters Yy and Qq, Birds, Flowers, and Mothers'Day Gifts

My youngest cleans up pretty well!
He looked so spiffy for his junior prom!
I'll admit I had some tears to see him so grown up!

On Sunday we finally got our bees!
I love  these little honey makers!

The kids voted for our last dramatic play area of the year.
And the winner is....
A PIZZERIA!

 What yummy fun!

Monday afternoon we created these cutie pie bird houses after doing a mini study about birds.
Each student had to write a bird fact. Well done,  kiddos!

Tuesday we prepped for an art project for Wednesday!

 It's a surprise...

Tuesday's centers included:
States of Matter
Solids Liquids Gases
When asked why the beach ball was in the gases column,  this kiddo replied 'because there's air inside! '
Nailed it!

Writing and Illustrating a favorite memory with Ms.Harden...

Magic E!
(silent e rule)

Sorting words we can read...

Finding number words...

Oh dear!
We said goodbye to Ms.Harden on Tuesday. What a bittersweet day.
We will sure miss her sunny disposition,  nurturing and kind nature,  and incredible work ethic!
 We were truly blessed!

This sweetie brought
(Yellow) Goldfish for our Yy snack!
And I brought Quaker Granola Bars for the Qq snack!
Sadly these are the last 2 letter snacks of the year.
However your child may bring
in a snack for the class any day for a
'just because' snack!
Please plan for 24.
This is totally optional.
No need to ask ahead,
You can surprise us!

Here's our beautiful Mother's Day gifts we created for you!

And here's the beautiful cards!

Inside the kids told about their moms and drew her picture. Priceless!

Thursday's new morning challenges are:
Sorting States of Matter:
Solids Liquids and Gases

Number order with tiny little flower pots...

Listening for blends
SH WH CH TH PH

We have 2 more kiddos in the
100 CLUB!

Thursday's morning challenge was very interesting...
The kids named flowers or if they didn't know the name,  the made it up.
So many lovely flowers named after our moms!

Oh my goodness!
What a treat we received on Thursday morning as local author and photographer,
Diane Rislow, read her book to us called
Sophie's Spring Surprise!

Mrs. Rislow even brought her story board for us to look at!

Very cool!

Thursday's centers included:
Play dough and beads brain break

Magic E practice...

Science: what's it made of?

Read the Room
Birds counting by 5s.

And Springtime Pattern Blocks...

Friday morning as part of our fun Friday work we designed and wrote about pizzas!

We've had such authors, illustrators, and photographers (with mom's help)
in our room lately!
This week alone we had a very lovely book about a trip to the Aquarium at Mall of America ....

about a unicorn!
(I'll try to get a pic when she shares with the class)

We finally got to have milk break outside!
We call it MILK BREAK MAY!
We'll try to do this every day the weather is fair and if our behaviors at specials are good
(sadly we've struggled with PE and Music lately)
They can do it!  I know they can!

Selfie with the teacher is always fun!
