2019 Week 35 Review all letters and words, Graphing, and THE POND!

Here's a sneak peek of our week!

We did a little backpacking and primitive camping last weekend at Jay Cooke State Park.
The 10 inches of snow they received on Wednesday was all gone by Friday. The weather was lovely,  there was very little mud, no bugs, no crowds!  Early season camping might just be my new favorite! (Shhhh! Don't tell anyone, I reserved their last electric site and brought my electric blanket!  Haha.. win! Although my hubby just shook his head and rolled his eyes. )

We hiked to the Southern Terminus of the Superior Hiking Trail.  We've about 150 miles ticked off the 300+mile trail... they keep adding to it! Someday we'll finish?!?
And of course I got to play in The Lake!  See my Facebook page or Instagram post to read more if you're interested...

As promised, we began learning about the pond on Monday!
These kiddos are discovering the leap frogs and measuring how far they can jump!

These biologists are exploring our pond in the classroom!
Here we have some musicians playing the frog rhythm instruments!

It's not just about ponds in our room though!
This guy has visited the magnet station everyday.
He is fascinated by the magnetic force field.

Monday afternoon we crafted these adorable turtle mosaics!

We also painted coffee filters needed for a pond lily project later this week.

Our writing journals are mostly used with a starter phrase now.
The k kids finish with their own ideas.
Here we began with "A pond..."
I love how they utilized their recent lesson on states of matter!

The kids have been creating books like crazy this Spring!
Here's our homemade classroom collection from just this week!
We try to share these literary gems daily.
Most are about friendship!
Here's a guy in the process of creating a book!
