2019 October Week 6 Letters Qq, Rr, Ss, Tt FIRE SAFETY!

Do you recognize any of these lovely ladies?  Ms.Julie from the Cardinal Club staff treated us to a weekend getaway in her cabin up on Stone Lake,  WI! Other than the weather,  it was perfect!
Here's a lovely project from last week...I didn't get photos of these owls until the kids' handprints dried.

On Monday this kiddo brought Quaker Bars for our Qq treat...
And this kiddo also brought Quaker squares for Qq day
(one of our doubled up days)
On Monday afternoon we crafted these cute fire engines!

We displayed them around our fire safety station!

Tuesday's morning challenges included:

Fire Safety Sentences..

And Fire Engine Numeric Order...

Oh! The leaf homework is exciting!
Be looking for a lucky duck book coming home soon!

We had a bonus Rr treat on Tuesday as I brought Ritz Crackers with cheesy Rrs!
This Really Ready kiddo brought in "
really" good cupcakes and rainbow gummies!

Tuesday's centers included:

On Wednesday this sweetie brought
String Cheese for our Ss Treat!
New blocks=new structures!
Great teamwork!

Wednesday afternoon we were SCIENTISTS!
We explored Skittles Science!

We first arranged our Skittles,
 recorded the arrangement,
made a hypotheses of what we predicted would happen when we added warm water.
Finally we poured the water...

Beautiful cooperation!

Then we did the experiment again,  only bigger!

We took out a few new floor puzzles,  what fun!

On Thursday,  Mrs.Pilger and I spent the day in grade level meetings.  The kiddos had Mrs.Peg Olson as their Sub. She reported that they were wonderful!   She'll also be our sub when I go to Georgia's Jekyll Island in February for a few days with my son and his family.
I had her reread The Rhyming Dust Bunnies and then have the students create Bob, the fellow who doesn't rhyme!

Our Squirrel station is a hit!

Here's some of our IMPORTANT work lately...
The star word 'like'...
 introducing nouns for places...
After the kids brainstormed ideas together, they then drew their favorite noun for a place!

Our letter focus this week was Qq, Rr, Ss, and Tt.
Here's our ABC book pages...

The discovery table and science table are just loaded with fall items!
Thanks to everyone who sent in items.  We will except donations through October.

The family projects are adorable!  Only 3 more to go and we will have a complete set!
