2023 Week 17 Happy New Year and Winter and Snow

This short and snowy week was so lovely!  I really missed the k kids and I think they might have missed being here as well if the number of tight hugs on January 4 were an indicator!  Haha!

Here's a few photos of our New Year's and wintery fun:

We created some super cute 2023 hats!

And these sweet countdown to the new year projects!
Counting from 20-1 is a state standard that we practice a lot. They are getting so good at it!

This was as a bonus and what a fun pattern~

We are beginning to learn about a school wide program called Cardinal C.A.R.E.S
This week was C for Cooperation!

Yep,  we had a snowball fight in kindergarten!
But first the kids had to open the paper snowball, read the word,  then ball it back up and throw it! They especially liked throwing at their teacher!

Ohhhh! Centers were so fun and sparkly I couldn't pass them up on account of our snow day and 2 hour late start so we had them on Thursday! Fun!

Station 1 was sight words on Happy New Year's balls!

Station 2 was Happy New Year's Numeral Search...

Station 3 was another great pattern block activity...

Station 4 was...snowflake soup!
And a big old pot of insta-snow!

Station 5 was a new technique called "Read the Room!" The kids have a recording sheet on a clipboard and search to find the word.  This week the words were color words.

There are more photos of centers... keep scrolling!

We have 3 more counting to 100 kiddos!  We added a 4th after this picture was taken.  Good job,  kiddos!

We observed like scientists as we mixed up some more insta snow...

Here are the centers in action...
