2024 Week 2 Brown Bear and Corduroy the Bear~

Wowza what a great week!

As promised, here are the cutie patootie racoon projects from last Friday:

And I hope you enjoyed our gift to you:
Thank you for everything you've done to help your k kid be successful! From donations to volunteering (see below) to just talking earnestly with your child everyday about what they learned in school, I appreciate YOU!

We've started our ABC Book!
These will be sent home toward the end of October when we are finished with our whirlwind introduction to each letter and sound.
After that, we take a letter each week and really focus on how to print it and how it sounds.  It is important to have the foundational skill of letter recognition in place by then.  Thanks for reviewing at home if needed.

Monday's super fun project was this Alligator Purse from the fun song!

Sorry, I did not get everyone, by phone died.

We also talked about our families, the most important teachers we will ever have!

On Wednesday we had our first CENTERS!!!!
I will set up 5 stations that the kiddos rotate through.
Anytime you wish to help us, Wednesday at 1:30 is a perfect time!
Station 1 was NAMES!

Station 2 with Ruby's mom, Jill, was M&M sorting, counting, and eating!

Station 3 was ABCs and Bears:

Station 4 was Playdough fun~

Station 5 was painting the BIG BEAUTIFUL BEARS from Tuesday's cutting project!
See below for completed bears in the hallway.

Here are some of the learning centers around our room:

On Thursday we made these sweet little Corduroy the Bears to go along with the book by the same name.

Here are those BIG COLORFUL Bears!

We've been working on our names all week!

Every day the kiddos will sign on our morning message chart!

And now for the week of September 16-20:

Reading/Language Arts: Letters Ee, Ff, Gg, and Hh

Rhyming and beginning sounds and syllables

Math: Numbers 4 and 5

Theme: Pete the Cat

Social Studies: We Learn at School

BIG NEWS:

Be sure to put your family's name in all clothing your child might remove throughout the day.  The lost and found is already growing!
