Teachers love to have fun!
Mrs. Olson and I planned twinsies day for Thursday when she was subbing for the other class! What fun!
We loved everything about apple week!
First, though, here is Friday's science:
Sorting How Animals Move
I love making these charts with the kids!
And Monday's friendship Social Studies topic:
The kids earned a popcorn and movie for winning an ABC game that we play daily. They got 10 points! We watched WordWorld and ate popcorn and drank a juice packet. Ever since the movie the kids play with the WordWorld toys daily! Shhh, they don't even realize they are learning! Haha!
On Monday we began our week long apple unit!
So many some things to explore!
We sliced apples to make dried apples.
Mmmmm! The aroma was delicious!
We used our apples to sort by color and size...
We learned about Johnny Applebee's and then created ourselves as Johnny Appleseed!
Wednesday morning we cut the rest of the apples for applesauce...
Our 5 stations for centers included:
Station 1 making kindergarten apple pie and tasting our applesauce, dehydrated apples, and apple juice!
Station 2 apple dice roll
Station 3 beginning sounds and learning about color coding with Jill...
Station 4 Magnetic puzzles
Station 5 Apple Playdough!
Here are our ABC pages this week:
The fun topic was Animals Change and Grow!
And now for the week of September 30-October 4:

beginning sounds
Sight word: *I*
Grammar: Nouns for people
Math: numerals and counting and comparing 0-5
Social Studies: Leaders at Home and School
Science: sorting animals

Big News: we'll be walking to the homecoming parade on Friday (weather permitting) arriving near the corner of Fremont and Main by 2:00.
You are welcome to join us.
All children must report back to school before leaving for the day
(yes, you can come get them right after the parade if you wish. Come to our room to check them out)
Go Big Red!
Homecoming items are for sale BEFORE school. If your child is getting any of these fun items, please put the money in an envelope clearly marking what items they want. Instruct them to go to the office area to buy the items as the high school students selling these things are gone at 8:00, before I even see the kids.
Book orders are due Monday, October 7.
Family projects are HERE!
I love this activity!
You and your family can use the material I send or your own stuff to create a pumpkin!
Each k kid will give a little speech about their family project and they will be displayed all month in the hallway!
Just a quick note: Your child should not do this alone, it is a FAMILY project. Thanks!
