2019 Week 19 Letter Bb, star words *are*now*, THE BEACH!

.
Happy WINTERY weather to you!
If you've never checked out Frontenac State Park
near Red WIng, it is fantastic!
Also any candlelight events around the area are family friendly, free (with a state park sticker), and fun!
Plus there's hot chocolate and cookies!
(yes, we will be out in the elements again this coming frigid weekend in Finland for the John Beargrease dog sled race! Stay tuned for highlights next week~)
BRRRRR!

Oh, that moon!

We began Monday with a celebration of our wonderful para support staff!  We could not do this without them!

We had a Dr. Martin Luther King lesson.
We got to vote for which bag to open:
the shiny one or the plain bag.
The one with the most votes is what we'd open and share.
You guessed it, the shiny one won.
.
However, these yummy M and Ms were in the plain bag...
and cat food was in the shiny bag!!!
Oh!
We learned that it isn't what is on the outside that is important, it is what is on the INSIDE!
We did NOT eat the cat food..haha! but shared the M&Ms when we could say what we'r learned!
Then we read a book called
THE LAND OF MANY COLORS.
We learned that people of all colors can and should live together in peace.
We then made our own land of many colors!

Tuesday's snowday....enough said!

Wednesday was our BEACH PARTY!
I love the look of these little sandals all lined up in a row!

Before celebrating we had new morning challenges:
Coconut tree counting by 5s...

Shark Teens....

Pirate rhyming review...

Thank you for all the tasty fruit!
Our fruit bar looks delightful!

Here's a few getting ready for the party pictures...

This generous girl brought us bananas and bugles for our Wednesday snack!
BEAUTIFUL!
These make me smile,  too!

The fruit kabobs were a hit!

We had everyone pose with their kabob for a photo.
We're working on a cute beach picture frame for you.
They should be done by next week!

These kids cracked us up at choice time.
They played lifeguard for 30 minutes!   You'll notice a drowning victim on the floor.  Yes,  he needed rescuing for most of the 30 minutes!

We played a sight word fishing game!
What fun!

Wednesday afternoon we painted with bubbles!

Ms. Hardin has been our main "checker-outer" lately!
The kiddos love her,  I do, too!
Here's a new discovery area for us to explore... liquids!
Thursday's centers included:
Brain break bubbles...

Ending sounds treasure chests...

More bubbles... she wasn't going to give up!

Yay! Can you see it?
Ms. Hardin helped us explore sink or float?
I'm betting the k kids are using these words at home,
they were so engaged in this lesson!

Beach party pattern blocks...

And finally the decorate-a-fish table!
What sparkly fun!
