2017 Week 4 Letters Ii Jj Kk and Ll, position words, and APPLES!

Wow!  What fun we had at the apple orchard!
Keep reading for pics and highlights of our first field trip.

This week in K we opened the new science station....sunflowers! 
Thanks to all who donated seed heads and live flowers. The kids have been enjoying the discovery process! 


Haha!  I put a sticky note letter I on the kids and said "I've got my eye on you! "
After that,  they would put that I on a friend and say the same thing!  
Did they play that trick on you?  
These kids are so funny!
Our new morning challenges on Tuesday were:
Uppercase to lowercase matching (a through m)

This joyous fellow brought us 
jiggly jello for Tuesday's letter j snack!

We've been learning a lot about apples this week!
We studied our apples,  colored like a scientist, measured them, a posed for a picture with them!

Don't you just love the look of apples?
On Wednesday we made applesauce and dried apples! 
 What a delicious aroma !





This Kiddo brought us Kit Kats for letter Kk snack!

Fun fact: This week in Social Studies the topic is 'Leaders at Home and School' so we invited our brand new superintendent,  Mrs.Backer-Johnson to come on in and read to our class and to share a little about her job!  The kids loved visiting with her!  Thank you,  Mrs. Baker!

and y is for yoyo from Utah!


Wednesday afternoon we finally got to eat our applesauce and dried apples! 
Mmmmmmm!





We also made our parade cardinals to take with is on Friday!

Our semi-annual Box Tops and Milk Moola contest is ON through October 18, please send in any that you can!

New Monthly Homework:
Family Projects...creating memories!
Our first one will be sent home Monday.
You and your k kid and anyone else you can get to help will create a pumpkin with the materials sent or with your own supplies!
These creations will be in the hallway for everyone to enjoy!  They'll be due in one week.

PIZZA HUT reward program: BOOK IT!
October is the official kick off.
To earn October's certificate for an individual pizza your child will have to read and record 10 books.  You can read to them or with them or be read to!
November through March will be a bit different as the reward will be tied to ACTION 100 starting sometime in November for Kindergarten.
