Week 2...Nursery Rhymes, Sunflowers, and Sorting

Last week we learned and illustrated 5 Nursery Rhymes...
Hickory Dickory, Jack and Jill, Mary had a Little Lamb,
Hey Diddle Diddle, and Humpty Dumpty.
The kiddos really are great direction followers!
Our morning message also included a bit of Nursery Rhyme fun.
Check our pics out...

Our Math lessons included sorting shapes.
We are doing super on this skill, too!

We were scientists this week and used magnifiers to discover SUNFLOWERS
then we painted those beauties!
Next week I will upload pics of our GALLERY....

The next few pics are of table activities.
We do these first thing in the morning...
what a fun way to begin our day!

One of the best sorts I have seen in awhile...
This smarty sorted the aliens by EYE COLOR!
WOW...that was some detailed work!

on Wednesday night....YUMMMM!

We found and developed some OLD disposable cameras...
Here is a pic of Maeve's 6th Birthday...she is now 15!
 Here is Lee, baby Fionn, and baby Pippin..all sound asleep.
Fionn was he's 10,
Lee was a crazy teenager, now he's making his own way in Wisconsin Dells at the Moose Jaw,
and Pippin is about 100 pounds and 3 feet taller!

Present day...we have 4 kitties that will need a home...

There are 2 black ones, 1 black/white one, and 
this little pink faced cutie!

Saturday night was a wonderful night for a little fire...

Upcoming Week of Sept 17-21

Language Arts-rhyming, letters Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd; rhyming 
Theme-shapes and colors
Late start Friday breakfast served.
Friday will also be our first switch-a-roo projects in all three rooms...k kids will rotate to all three of our  classrooms!  What fun

Please remember to have your K Kid WEAR their gym shoes TO school.  If they would like to wear sandals/boots/fancy shoes please SEND that footwear in their backpack and she/he can change after PE.  Thanks for helping!

Please mark your calendars for Monday, September 24 at 7:00 in the Elementary Library...our first Parents for Lewiston Altura Youth (PLAY) meeting of the year!  Child care and snacks are provided...everyone who has a child in our district is a member by default.  Come and join a little or help a lot...we would LOVE to see you there and hear your ideas!
