2023 Week 4 Apples!!!

Here's to the FAMILY part of our blog~

Ren Fest Fun!

We used to be part of a living history group when the kiddos were younger. Now they are fitting into OUR gear and we are running out of kilts! It was amazing to be there again and even MORE amazing when the rain cleared out the crowds!

Back in the real world... APPLE week in Kindergarten!
Our centers on Wednesday were:
Station 1
Apple Treats!
On Tuesday we peeled apples together and made applesauce and dried apples.
MMMMMM!
(photos further down on this blog)

The aroma was delicious!
The kiddos even made their own version of apple pie!

Station 2 was playdough with an apple twist!

Station 3 was puzzles~
Due to lack of para time we will be having more brain breaks during centers.  If you ever want to volunteer, WEDNESDAY afternoons we are in need of people to run a station or two.  Please contact me!

Station 4 was "Bobbin' for Apples"
The kids pulled an apple card, read it, found the apple match, and dotted it! Great numeral recognition!

And our 5th station was "Good Apples"
friends at school!
This was good printing practice.

The kiddos won the ABC game to 10 points!
I show 25 of the 26 abc cards and they have to guess the missing letter. It's amazing they can do this! Most adults cannot! Haha!
They earned a popcorn and movie during snacktime!
Because multiple kids shared they did not care for popcorn, I also brought goldfish.
I aim to please!

Our science topic was
"Animals Change and Grow"
We learned the vocabulary word offspring and adult.
We also made a Baby Face Lucky Duck Book to illustrate how WE have changed and grown!

Haha! That's me!

A bonus science activity was to recognize and label an apple:

On Tuesday we made dried apples and applesauce!
YUMMY!

But first we sorted and counted and graphed our apples!

What delicious fun!

Our ABC Book is coming along!

The apple skins were a treat!

and so were our apples!
Thank you to all who sent apples.
We had enough to cook with AND eat whole this year!

The kiddos love our morning messages!
This one was a particularly good sample of their blossoming penmanship!

Thank you for all the FALL FUN discovery items!
You are soooo generous!

Oh yes we are scientists!
We will do many of these
CAN HAVE ARE Charts
throughout the year as we discover items together.

We are always assessing skills.
The kiddos are doing great!

We created these cutie patootie cardinals for Friday's parade.
Go Big Red! I will post parade photos next week.
