2021 April Week 4 Pets and May Day!

Wow!  We've only 5 weeks left of Kindergarten!

I still have time to "polish" up my little gems before sending them off to summer break and then first grade!

This week we focused on 2D and 3D shapes, short u word families, singular/plural, magic E, May Day, and pets! Wow!

Thank you for all the cute pet photos! Our bulletin board is looking great!

Here's a few photos of our fun week:

Yes, she is a chicken. Yes she lived in the house all winter (she had a foot deformity that meant her demise unless we took her in)

She is mostly outside now as she has decided she likes some of the other chickens. However she still wants to come in to lay her egg in a basket that is above the piano. We are setting it outside hoping she'll get the hint!

We performed a mini musical BINGO! for each other!

We are having fun with our ABC Countdown to the end of the year!

Each student decorated a letter for the hallway as we march toward the end! Please see the tab for our daily fun...a few need help from home.

Pet sentences are a fun way to review!

We reached our 100 Reading Step Goal in Kindergarten!

We celebrated with popcorn, (low sugar) juice, and a movie about....what else? Books!

We planted peas and flowers on Monday.

What a wonderful messy day!

Ms. Kay helped the kids retell CAPS FOR SALE!
We made May baskets to share with the assisted living home and another basket to take home to share!
Happy May Day!

For C Day we made a collage with crackers!  Then we ATE our art work!

2021 April Week 3 Farm and Earth Day

Yep, before we begin this week's post I have to do some more Grandma bragging!

I flew to Atlanta last Friday to see my son and his lovely little family!

We walked and walked and walked practically everywhere...an average of 10 miles a day!

If you've ever experienced Atlanta traffic you know why!

Here are a few highlights!

I am lucky enough to visit them once a year!

We had another "will you be in our wedding? " celebration!

Fun fact: my son's 1st building project in Atlanta is just to the left of my Granddaughter in the next photo...

AMAZING!

My kid changed the skyline of Atlanta!!!

(with the help of his entire team of course! But this was his design!)

We LOVE fairy gardens!

Yes, I did some "almost legal" graffiti painting! My phone did not work though... sorry for the blurry "evidence"

Read more about this adventure on my Instagram if you are interested!

It's not a visit unless we make art!!!! And here's some non-graffiti art we created together!
<<<<MEANWHILE BACK IN MINNESOTA>>>>

Here's some photos of our fun and learning in the classroom this week!

(I was back in Minnesota on Monday)

I brought back a little Georgia treat for the kids to enjoy on Tuesday!

Yes!

We baked an actual loaf of bread in Kindergarten!!!!

Right in our classroom!!!

We used all the COVID friendly practices so even though the kids could not help measure, mix, stir this year, they still go to enjoy the delicious aroma and taste the yummy bread!!!!

Here's the secret!  A bread machine!

Our vet shop is so much fun!

Thank you for this bonus homework if you chose to do it!

Our para accidentally sent it home when I was gone on Friday.

We wrapped up our farm unit with many different versions of the Little Red Hen!
We then made these lovely little hens to add to our hallway barnyard!!!

We began our Earth Day celebration on Thursday!

I am not sure if I shared our fun 3D shape poem...so here it is again!

Oh I just LOVE these beautiful BIG BEAUTIFUL PLANET Earths!
