October Week 2

I hope you've been able  to get out and enjoy our gorgeous weather with your family!
Here's what I do to reset, relax, and unwind although I did get blisters from this 4.5 mile paddle... half of it was UP the swiftly flowing Trempeleau River!

The kids earned a popcorn party on Thursday for winning the ABC game!
We watched an Arthur video and ate popcorn and drank juice!

Here are a few of our new stations:

Our night time Nn s really turned out NICE!

September-October Week 4

It was HAPPY APPLE WEEK
In Kindergarten!!!!
(if you are looking for an update on next week's activities, I will always put them at the end of the photos)

Thank you for sending in all the nice apples for our fun and educational activities!

We thought like scientists as we made diagrams of an apple:
We labeled the parts of an apple tree:

We read about and created these cutie-patootie
Johnny Appleseeds!

We've been looking at
COOPERATION as one of our C.A.R.E.S
school wide study on character development.
Yes, we are all GOOD APPLES!

This chart shows what we learned about apples.
It's called a
CAN HAVE ARE chart.

We measured with apples.
You get to see me and Mr. Tom however we did measure everyone!

We found the star when we cut an apple!

We ate whole apples, homemade applesauce and dried apples!

We used our senses to describe apples!
(this was an introduction to adjectives!)

Here's our cooking pictures!
(the blog loads pictures recent to older no matter how I do it so they will be in reverse order this year)
Dried Apples:
Applesauce:
Looks like a fun process!
(it was!!!)

We\graphed our apples by color:

We really really really looked at our apples like artists would and drew what we saw.  It was exciting to notice that a red apple is not all red!

Here's our apple station!
(see  the big apple adjective chart? Fun!)

Here are our actual apple graphs.
We sorted into size...
and color...

We LOVE LOVE LOVE the apple discovery table!
