2022 Week 31 Mud, Worms, and Earth Day!

I hope your Spring break was everything you hoped for!

It was for me and it was worth nearly 20 hours in the jeep (roundtrip) to visit my daughter's family in Indianapolis!

We did so much!  I had a special activity with each one of my 4 grandkids...what fun!  But the weekend flew by.  Here is my favorite photo of the weekend...we were part of a virtual murder mystery downtown Indianapolis called Clued Upp!

We actually placed in the top 100!

The cutest detectives ever!

Here are the centers we had just before break:

Measuring with jelly beans....

Missing Number (and minus one, plus one) on a hundreds chart...

Secret code eggs and sight words...

Shape stamping and creating...

and creating a tiny little bunny basket to give to someone we love!

Math continues to be 2D and 3D shapes!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the donut fundraiser for Ready Set School.  Cora's mom bought for everyone who did not send in a form.  Thank you!!!

This week in k we played with MUD! We read about it, we painted with it, we wrote about it!

We also have been studying worms!  It just doesn't get better than this in kindergarten!  Mud and worms!

We also learned about Earth Day!

Because of our short week we had centers on Wednesday!
Here are our muddy and wormy stations:
Tasty Mud Pie!

Writing sight words in "mud" (pudding!)

More wormy sight word work...

Muddy and colorful puddles (color words)

Muddy subtraction...

A blast from the past!  A lovely lady who had a kindergartener in my room 16 years ago (!!!!!) made these little worms for our classroom!
How nice was that!

The Vet Clinic in now open!

We've also brought out the farm toys to get ready for next week's farm unit!

2022 Week 30 Spring Animals!

Spring Animals were the focus this week!

We also sorted Oviparous (egg layers)

and Viviparous or Nonoviparous (live birth) animals.

Our Math topic has been fun
learning about 2D and 3D shapes.

Here are two of our latest learning stations:

Ms.S guided the kiddos through this fun and colorful project...

The kids love these label pages.

During Tuesday's centers we rotated through the following stations:
Number words...

CVC words...(consonant vowel consonant)

Spring Playdo with bdpq practice first...

Egg Addition...

Rearranging the letters
in Happy Easter
to make real/ silly words...

These kiddos were so proud of their bunnies!

And chicks!

Ms. S helped the kids to create this oldie but goodie:
"My little yellow duck is really quite funny,
for when I turn him over he's the...
Easter Bunny!"

Hope your kiddo enjoys the little Easter gift...
it's one of my favorites, Peeps Smores!

I will not have time to update this blog after school on Thursday as I'm Indianapolis bound to see 4 of my grandchildren!  Centers photos will be included next week.  Thanks for your patience.
