2018 Week 35 Flowers Birds and MOTHERS' Day!

Last weekend we celebrated Mothers' Day a bit early with my mom...we enjoyed a delicious CREPE BAR!
Here's to all you moms and folks who fill the "mom" shoes out there,
Thanks for being you!  
You are the most important teacher in your child's life!
Enjoy your day!

We've added a few new stations around the room...
The Pet Shop toys are a hit!
The bird station is fun to explore!

All week long we've been working here and there on making Mothers' Day gifts and cards.
Here is one little guy making the beginning of a lovely flower filled card by using BUBBLES to create the illusion of hydrangas!

Tuesday brought new morning challenges:

We began our science topic of GASES SOLIDS and LIQUIDS with this  exciting experiment:
We added a solid (packed baking soda) to a liquid (vinegar) and trapped the gas created by the chemical reaction in the balloon!  It was pretty cool!




We then sorted objects into SOLID LIQUID GAS:

and then created our own list:


Tuesday's centers included:

On Wednesday we generated bird words!
Each kid had to describe a bird using adjectives or a descriptive or telling phrase and then name a type of bird!

Oh, JOY! The Pizza Parlour dramatic play center is open for business!  More pics further down...

On Wednesday the kiddos learned about Georgia O'Keefe and then created their own O'Keefe style chalk drawings!

Yep, another birthday boy!

 For a bonus activity, this smartie is writing numbers on a long scroll...at the time of this photo he just got to 100!
Later in the day, he and a friend took turns writing numerals and they are over 200 now!
