Gung Hay Fat Choy!

Happy Chinese New Year!

We watched a lovely Chinese New Year parade on YouTube.  We saw a scarf dance (among other beautiful sights) then tried it out on our own during choice time!

The following are some photos of the Chinese New Year stations set up around our room...
Here are the lucky Leises for the kids!

We created this gorgeous lucky dragon on Monday!
Our panda station is up and running...

At the dramatic play area we can have a Chinese feast...

The discovery table is full of Chinese Noodles...
and chopsticks to practice with!

During Tuesday's centers we made and ate
Chinese noodles with chopsticks!

Ms.S's table was comparing cultures... we discovered that we are more alike than different!

Mrs. Sauers helped us write short words...

Ms. Martinez assisted us with addition facts...

And Mrs. Flathers reviewed counting by 10s...

Here's more photos of us enjoying the Chinese Noodles!

We are having so much fun at the Chinese New Year station at choice time!

On Wednesday we created these cutie patootie groundhogs!

After two days of learning about groundhogs we created a "can have are" chart! Nice job,  kiddos!

Thursday's centers included:
Probability... dice roll
"Did the Groundhog See His Shadow?"

Bonus challenges with Ms.S...

Middle sounds with Ms.Martinez...

Counting on tens to teens with Mrs.Sauers...

Beginning digraphs "ch sh th" with me!

We also had lots of bonus baby groundhogs this week! Cute!

Here's a last minute entry!
