2022 Week 14 Polar Bears and Gingerbread!

❆❆❆Happy Winter!❄❄❄

It's finally time for a family, as in the Kindergarten and FAMILY part of the blog, update!

After a later start than anticipated (appt for mom that went looooong!), we made it up to The Knife River near Two Harbors for their Julebyen (Christmas Village) experience! We spent the entire 4° Saturday outdoors shopping and eating!  Then we continued the shopping and eating down in Duluth for their bigger and busier Christmas Village.  And of course a quick stroll into the Lake before coming home!

We didn't get a tree from the Superior National Forest again this year... sigh.  It's been a family tradition to trudge miles into the deep dark winter forest to get the perfect imperfect tree!

Last year we were blizzarded out.

This year we simply didn't have enough time.

Adulting is hard!

Now back to kindergarten:

Our gingerbread theme is my favorite!

We opened a gingerbread bake shop in our dramatic play area!

The igloo is shaping up nicely! Thank you for all the donations!

Oh.My.Goodness!  Ms. Linda in the office designed this gorgeous display! With the help of some crafty Christmas elves they created a whimsical entrance to our school!

We have a Gingerbread Village to arrange and rearrange!

Here are a our current learning stations...
some new,  some from last week:

Tuesday was Polar bear day!
We filled in our own Can*Have*Are chart as we thought like scientists.

Wants and Needs for the win when the kids choose to play the game we played whole group!

We are working on color words this week.
What a fun way to review!

Dice games are always a fun and meaningful way to practice so many different skills.
Here we are practicing the ~am family:

Are you ready for cuteness overload?
