Week 30 Letter Xx, Spring Themes, April Fools, Rabbits!

We had an amazing SPRING THEMES Week!
We began by listing things that reminded of Spring
and of course ROBINS made the list!
So we created these adorable ROCKIN' ROBINS!

This is also
"Bring  Your Rabbit to Kindergarten" week for us!

We worked on self control while resting, working, and playing with our bunny!
Be looking for a great lucky duck book which we wrote about our rabbits!
Here the bunnies are playing the MYSTERY number game!

We also made this perennial favorite:
(just like magic!)

 so cute....

Tuesday brought new morning challenges:
Bunny Sentences...

Bunny Backward ABC order (I mean ZYX)

And Kite Counting by 5s...

We learned a bit about things that hatch from eggs.
We will continue this science topic when we return from Spring Break...
In the mean time, aren't these chicks cute?

 Tuesday's centers included:
Missing Number on a Hundreds Chart
Easter Basket Style...

Adding Baskets...

 Beginning and Ending Sound Baskets...

and our Science topic this week:
What's It Made Of?

Wednesday's April Fools day was a hoot!
I made Brown Es...and also brought REAL Brownies cuz that's not even funny if you say you have Brown Es and don't have Brownies for real!!!!  I take my chocolate seriously!

Our chart was funny, too!
(the 1,000,135th day of school!)
Plus it said we were sleeping all day!
April Fools!

I also like to begin our first chapter book:
Captain Underpants!
We will read a few other chapter books before the end of the year!

Mrs. Sauers helped us finish our lovely
PUSSY WILLOW
still life paintings!
 I have a little kitty.
Her coat is silver gray.
She lives down in the meadow,
and she never runs away.
She'll always be a kitty.
She'll never be a cat.
Cuz she is a PUSSY WILLOW!
Now what do you think of that?

We've been sharing riddles and jokes all week.
This gave us another chance to talk about how words can mean more than one thing.

We had our own Easter Egg Hunt!
The kids hid the eggs and found them as well!

Thursday's Centers are pictured here without the kids as I will have no time to update this blog before I leave to see my Grandbabies in Indianapolis!
