Week 31 Letter Ee, Star Word 'said', WEATHER!

Oh My Goodness!
I just have to share with you our Spring Break in Indianapolis!
We helped plan and prepare for our granddaughter's 4th birthday party!
It was a Rapunzel themed soiree!

Grandpa and Cru all "Tangled" up!

We made Wren and Calla and her cousin Maycee looong beautiful Rapunzel hair!

decorations right from the movie Tangled!

 As a breath taking finale,
we released real floating lanterns
 just like in the movie!
 Happy 4th birthday, Wren!

Our shortened week brought new morning challenges on Tuesday:
Egg Counting by 2s...

Sorting BDPQ...

 Sorting Real and Silly words...

Tuesday was EGG DAY in Kindergarten as we discovered that
CHICKENS AREN'T THE ONLY ONES!
We learned the very scientific words of
OVIPAROUS and NONOVIPAROUS
(egg layer  and  not an egg layer)

Tuesday's Centers included:
Finding star words ...

 Rain Drops Odd or Even...

Beginning and Ending Sounds...

States of Matter
Liquid Solid Gas...
(sorry no group picture)

Our Wednesday Ee treat was Elfin' Good Cookies!

We also made it 'rain' with shaving cream as our cloud.
We watched as the cloud grew heavier and heavier before the rain actually fell!

We painted clouds for a lucky duck book...

Thursday we got ready to make THUNDER CAKE
(please see the recipe sent home in Friday's folder for our version of 3-2-1 Thunder Cake!)

We had another science experiment with making a real cloud with very cold and very hot water in a container.  We noticed that as the hot water cooled it condensed on the side and dripped down (precipitation!)

We also painted with 'rain' for yet another lucky duck book!

Finally centers arrived and we were able to make and eat our THUNDER CAKE!

This table wrote star words in clouds (shaving cream!)

This is raining cats and dogs counting by 2s...

and rainy day addition...

Here are some of the poems we are learning about the weather....

The rainbow family projects are beautiful!

The kids love getting their picture taken with our morning message...

These 3 ladies are our WATER CYCLE champs!
Ask your k kid to show you how to play
EVAPORATION-CONDENSATION-PRECIPITATION

Speaking of the water cycle, here are their versions to take home...

We also played a probability game of
RAINING CATS AND DOGS...

Good Reads (plus we are still reading Captian Underpants!)

And now for the week of April 13-17
