Week 36 Letter Jj, star word 'are', THE POND!

Just a few more weeks to go...12 days left at the writing of this blog!
We are really trying hard to get in our
 MILK BREAK MAY time
but Mother Nature is not cooperating!
Here we are on Monday, the kids are snuggled behind me as I apparently make a good wind break!
What they don't know is they were keeping me warm as well!

On Monday we began the pond unit by creating these lovely pond lillies!
We made two sets, one for the ceiling lights (thank you, Pinterest)...
and one to decorate the room with!

Here is our Pond Discovery Table...fun!

New morning challenges included:
Frog Missing Numeral...

 Pond Lilly Numeric Order...

and telling time to :30...a tough one!

 Tuesday's Centers were:
Frog Subtraction...

Reading a Graph with Pond Themes...

Pond Measurement...

and counting by 5s with the blue birds of happiness!

Here we are playing in the pond!

This is a sneak peek of a surprise for you!

On Wednesday's we have guided drawing and word lists in our writing journals.
The kids are such hard workers!

On this day we practiced Jj's, learned how to draw jellyfish
(we even drew a peanut butter and jelly fish sandwich! Get it? Ha!), and wrote our word list including a sentence to finish.
The kids will be bringing these home next Wednesday for the year!  Hopefully they will keep writing and drawing throughout the summer!

Here is our clever Jj snack...jelly sandwiches!

Oh, this looks like fun...creating turtles!
Mosaic turtles, even!

Here they are all grouped together!
Adorable!

I will be leaving at noon on Thursday for a long overdue visit with my son, Graham, in Atlanta, Georgia!
Here are the centers that Mrs. Olsen will be doing with the kiddos...
