2018 Week 19 Letter Ff, star words 'what' & 'you', THE BEACH!

To celebrate 24 years of marriage,
my hubby and I took a crazy hike in a snowstorm UP a very high, very steep bluff in Perot State Park!
Seriously, the man owes me a spa day!
Here he is convincing me I could do this dangerous feat!
He promised ice cream when we got off the bluff...that helped!
Yep, that's the way to the summit after already walking 3/4 mile up, up, up!
Long story short, I LOVE ice cream!
And my husband apparently.

We began our week with some 3D shapes:
CONE CUBE SPHERE CYLINDER are the main ones.
This is our poem to help remember the shapes...
 We did lots of sorting:

The beach is up and running in Kindergarten!
We will have a beach party next Thursday.
Please refer to the note sent home on Friday about tropical wear!

We painted these adorable sea animals:
sea turtles, sea horses, and fish were our choices.

 Tuesday's new morning challenges included:
Chicka Chicka counting by 5s...

 Pirate Rhyme Time...

Chicka Chicka counting on from 10...

We also began these cute bonus sun catchers.
Every once in a while we come across a craft with the materials already here from years ago when I taught an enrichment program.  Love to use things up!

We are taking missing number to a new height!

Tuesday's centers included:
STEM challenge of creating a coconut tree that can hold foam letters using all of the supplies given
(10 wooden cubes, 6 popsicle sticks)
What fun!  Check out my Instagram account to see a more thorough write up.

 Fishy Friends...
(the kids got to design the pieces for this center!)

 How animals move...
walk/run, fly/glide, swim/float
 Here's more of our creations:

This fabulous friend brought us FROSTED FLAKES for our Ff treat this week!
 Oh, Happy Day!
Wednesday was shark day!
We read about sharks (fiction and nonfiction), compared sharks to whales, and made our own sharks!
(not all sharks where finished at the end of the day so not everyone got their picture taken)

Here's another snowman family project. There's a few more out, please send them in as soon as you can.
 Wow!  These are lovely!
We've been working on these all week. Hopefully they will be dry enough to take home on Friday.

 Thursday's centers included:
Shark Sounds...s or sh?
