2021 Week 5 Leaves and Owls

 Happy Homecoming Week!

Here are some shots of our fun and fabulous week!

These beauties were created by painting on water and glue (and glitter!) onto tissue paper squares.

So lovely!

Leafy ABC-abc matching...

My son, Leland, is the kitchen manager at Moose Jaw in Wisconsin Dells and every year he donates these magnificent moose hats for Mm day!

Thank you, Moose Jaw and Lee!

Our ABC book is coming along!

We sorted animals into

Diurnal and Nocturnal Animals for science...

We are having fun still searching for the letters in our names.  We have now added the skill of substitution of beginning sound to everyone's name.

Example: Marcia on N day in Narcia

It is a good way to practice rhyming and to get familiar with substitution of phonemes for later lessons!

We are beginning our grammar component of Language Arts. This week we listed nouns for people.

And we introduced our very first sight word amongst much fanfare!

****I****

We will have upwards of 120 sight words.

I will send home sight word baggies as soon as we get a few more words.  Please keep them at home and add the new words weekly.

Thursday's centers included:

Introduction to Sight Words with Wise Owl...

Sorting Owl Vowels...

Owl Beginning Sounds...
