2021 Week 6 Fire Safety and Squirrels

 Hey there!

Here are the parade photos from last Friday.

 What fun!

This week in K we reviewed Pp, Qq, Rr, and Ss!

Our alphabet books are so close to being done!

Friday's morning message generally focuses on the language art skill we are working on for the week.
This Friday it was beginning sounds.
The kids are doing great!

In Social Studies we looked at Rules for Home and checked to see if they fit into our 3 Rules for Being a Good Human: Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Ready:

We love whole group games!
This one was Squirrels In Fall, beginning sound review!

Thursday's centers included:
Squirrel Color Words....we will be learning how to read all the color words this year!

Missing Number with Ms. Erin...

Squirrel Beginning Sound with Mrs. Sauers...

Which is more (independent work)...

and finally...SKITTLES SCIENCE!
We talked about how a scientist observes the world, how to make a prediction, how to record our data!
Plus this was visually appealing! WOW!

You can watch the experiment in action here:

Wednesday was squirrel day!
We learned the fun poem Gray Squirrel and then made our own colorful squirrels!

On letter Rr day we read Rhyming Dust Bunnies and created our own rhyming dust bunny!

Tuesday's centers included:
I Spy Letters fire safety style!

This station was a double dozy! We worked on recording objects to numerals...
and our first READ THE ROOM activity!
The kids find the pieces for the station around the room and record.  Today we just checked off the fire safety objects but in the future we will be reading or solving each piece as we record.
Read the room is always a hit!
(the kids do not even know they are learning!)

Sparky's Beginning Sounds with Mrs. S....

My table was missing number...

and our brain break was POLKA DOT SOUP!
I make this every year for letter Pp day.
It's little transparent discs, measuring and pouring tools, and a big old bucket of water!
Who could ask for anything more!

We played a whole group game called Place the Polka Dot Letters! It was good active learning!
