Week 16, Letter Aa, short a sound, POLAR EXPRESS and CHRISTMAS!

Oh what a week we had before Christmas break!
 But before we go any further, I am sure you have heard there is 
NO SCHOOL on MONDAY, January 6, due to the cold!
Tune into KTTC or your favorite source for news to find out about TUESDAY as I noticed some school starting late.

Monday was our afternoon concert!
We spent the  morning creating a Christmas count down
with paper chains.
Not sure why this photo is "snowing" 
but it is pretty cool

Tuesday morning we began new morning challenges:

Thursday was POLAR EXPRESS day!
We wore our pajamas to school, read the book, and watched the movie...and of course, 
we made HOT CHOCOLATE~ in the crock pot!
Wow, did our room smell great!

Friday afternoon our awesome parent volunteers hosted
a lovely Christmas Party for us!

























Wow!  That was so much fun!
The next time we will ask for helpers is for our 100 day celebration coming up in February.

Science: Earth's water
Social Studies: All About Time (today vs. the past)
Theme: The Mitten

Big News: Please send your child prepared for the cold winter weather...even if we do not go out for recess
 (above 0 degrees with windchill factored in) 
I need to send them home bundled up, especially bus kids.
Coats, hats, mittens, boots, snow pants are all required EVERYDAY...
please label EVERYTHING...especially boots as the kids take them off before entering the gym in the morning and that's a lot of boots in one area!
