A Thankful Thanksgiving

K Kids amaze me with how much they are thankful for...
their families, friends, school (I even made it on a list or two!), planet Earth, God (yes, I know I teach in a public school, however religion is part of the socialization process in many families),
rainbows, pets, and penguins (? ha!)
It warms my heart to see such gratitude!

This week's book selections have covered everything from the letter Rr, to Wampanoags, to Pilgrims, to turkeys, and Thanksgiving.

Rosey Rabbit's Radish: Letter R 'Twas the Night before Thanksgiving A Turkey for Thanksgiving Samuel Eaton's Day: A Day in the Life of a Pilgrim Boy Sarah Morton's Day: A Day in the Life of a Pilgrim Girl (Scholastic Bookshelf Series) Ten Little Rabbits

Many Nations Very First Thanksgiving Day

We had a "mini-play" as we retold the 1st Thanksgiving story.
We came as the helpful Wampanoags....

Mrs. Pilger's kids came as the grateful Pilgrims...

Mrs. Kalmes' kids came as the yummy, but unhunted and uneaten, turkeys!

We shared our "feast"...
Each of us brought a small serving of cereal, nuts, chocolate, or candy to share...MMMMMM!!!!

The "leaders!"

What a nice ending to our short week!
Hope your Thanksgiving is delicious and restful!

If you've time, here is a worthy and fun cause..
Ringing the bells!
People are very kind and very generous!
I love this time of year!

  1. Looks like a great time. Karen and I used to have one room be pigrims and one be native Americans and we would open our rooms and set a big long table and enjpy our stone soup and home made bread. Fun times.
